Idrac, Jean Antoine

Jean Antoine Idrac (1849-1884)

"Antonin" Idrac travelled to Paris aged 17 to work in the studios at the Ecole des Beaux Arts.
A talented sculptor he won the First Prize of Rome in 1873, and exhibited Salammbo in plaster 
in 1881. It was carved in marble the following year and later cast in bronze.
